Manolis Charos was born in Kythira, in 1960. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (1978) in Paris. He has been honored with the French national Prix des Fondations and the Athens Academy Award. In 1991, he traveled to the United States, where Absolut Vodka used one of his works in its commercial campaign. In 1993, he designed the paper campaign for the National Book Center of Greece. In 1998, he was awarded the Academy of Athens Award for painters under 40 years of age. With lots of exhibitions in his course, both in Greece and abroad (France, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany USA etc.) He is considered as one of the most important representatives of his generation and his works are to be found in public and private collections in and out of Greece.
